About Xi'an Jiaotong University
Xi’an Jiaotong University (西安交通大学) traces its origin to Nanyang Public School, founded in Shanghai in 1896. In the 1950s the institution moved west to Xi’an in the historic “Westward Movement”, and was named Xi’an Jiaotong University in 1959.
A member of the elite C9 League and the Double First-Class initiative, XJTU is one of China’s leading universities for engineering, energy and power, science, medicine and management. Its campuses are in Xi’an, the ancient capital of Shaanxi province.
XJTU teaches more than 40,000 students — including over 1,100 international students from around 50 countries — across some 20 schools, eight residential colleges and eight affiliated hospitals.
