Roadmap · Founder note

My plans for Qiao — and the honest reason I'm building it

I'm Rovshen — the solo founder behind Qiao. I'm putting this on the public site so the people downloading the app know exactly where it's heading and why.

I'm building Qiao because I'm the one moving to China to study. Every checklist item, every reminder, every phrase in the phrasebook is something I either needed myself or watched a friend stumble through. The calm, AI-personalised onboarding I wished existed when I was reading my admission letter — that's the app I'm shipping.

The plan isn't to stay a "China app" forever. The same problem — landing in a new country, no friends, twenty browser tabs open, deadlines you don't know about yet — exists in every relocation. So Qiao expands country by country, and only after we've earned the right to be there. Below is the path, in three phases I'll commit to in public.

Three phases

China · Europe · United States

One country at a time, no shortcuts. Each phase ships only when the previous one is genuinely useful — not just live.

Phase 1 · Now

Phase 1 · Now → 2026

China — the country I'm landing in

  • AI-personalised arrival guide for top-tier and tier-2 cities
  • 200+ universities mapped — campus info, dorms, canteens
  • Trilingual UI from day one: English, Russian, 简体中文
  • Visa, residence permit and police-registration reminders pinned to your real arrival date
  • Native-audio Chinese phrasebook (HSK 1–3) for foreigners
  • Foreigner-friendly map — banks, 24h pharmacies, hospitals, metro
Phase 2 · Next

Phase 2 · 2026 → 2027

Europe — relocations, Erasmus, language schools

  • Same calm onboarding for Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Poland, Czech Republic, Portugal
  • Schengen visa, residence permit and Anmeldung-style registration helpers
  • Erasmus-aware checklist for exchange students
  • Phrasebooks in DE / FR / IT / ES / PT with native audio
  • AI helper that knows EU paperwork as well as it knows Chinese paperwork
  • Local UI for each country alongside English / Russian
Phase 3 · Later

Phase 3 · 2027 → 2028+

United States — once we've achieved something

  • We earn this phase by proving Qiao works at scale in China and Europe first
  • I-20, F-1, J-1 onboarding for international students in the US
  • University-by-university dorm, orientation and SSN walkthroughs
  • Banking, phone, healthcare and renting guides for newcomers
  • AI helper tuned to US college life and ESL learners
  • Cross-country: graduates moving China → Europe → US carry their progress with them
The long game

What Qiao becomes once the three phases land

A worldwide adaptation platform that goes deeper than a checklist — admissions, community, and AI plans for any country.

University admission through Qiao

We become the calmest place to apply to a foreign university. Pick a destination country, pick your level, and Qiao walks you through documents, deadlines, scholarships, language requirements and the actual application — then keeps walking with you on arrival. Think of it as the admission funnel that already cared about you before you booked the flight.

Qiao Community

Newcomers helping newcomers. A trilingual community — local chats per university and per city, verified mentors who landed last year, and a curated wall where the questions everyone is too shy to ask in WeChat groups get straight answers. Built into the app, not bolted on through a Telegram link.

AI relocation plans for any country

The same engine that writes your China plan should write your Germany, Korea, Japan or Brazil plan. Country-aware prompts, locale-aware phrase pools, and a world map that says "yes, we've got you here too" — wherever you're heading next.

Phrasebooks beyond Chinese

100+ native-audio phrases for every language a Qiao newcomer arrives in — German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Japanese, Arabic. Same five-level ladder, same ten categories, same calm pace.

Cross-country progress that travels with you

Your streaks, your achievements and your adaptation level follow you from country to country. China alumnus moving to Spain? Your "city scholar" badge stays. New reminders, new phrasebook, same calm Qiao.

A real product, not a content site

Qiao stays small on purpose. We won't become a social network, a marketplace or a dating app. The mission is one sentence: make landing in a new country quiet instead of chaotic. Everything we ship answers to that.

Why me, why now

A solo founder who's about to live the problem

Qiao isn't a market study. It's the app I'm shipping for myself in parallel with thousands of other people landing in China this year.

I'm a young founder going to study in China. The reason this is being built solo, transparently, and on a public roadmap is simple: I'm both the user and the developer. Every annoying gap in the first six months becomes a feature. Every time the app saves me an hour, I know it'll save the next student two.

Once China feels finished — not "live", finished — I move to Europe with the same playbook: one country at a time, real arrivals, real feedback. The United States is the prize at the end of that road, and I'd rather earn it than rush it.

If you're a student, a tourist, a business traveller or a new resident — Qiao is already for you, today, in China. If you're an admissions office, a university or a partner who can help us land in a new country sooner, write to me directly at support@qiaoguide.com.
