Your helper marks each stop as it is done, and the matching task in your checklist is ticked off straight away. If a stop is marked that did not happen, dispute it in the app.

You can ask for a helper of your own gender. For women this is on from the start.
Rated after every Meet
You rate your helper when the Meet ends. A rating shows once a helper has 3 of them; until then they are a new helper.

Your helper's WeChat appears in the app 24 hours before your arrival day, and a reminder comes the day before you land.

How Meet keeps you safe
You always know who is meeting you and whom to turn to.
Only in the arrivals hall
Your helper meets you inside the arrivals hall of the airport — not outside and not anywhere else.
A 4-digit meeting code
Only you see the code, in your app. Your helper types it in when you meet, which confirms it's the right person. After repeated wrong attempts the code locks.
The Qiao support line

Suspended after a serious complaint
A serious complaint suspends the helper at once, until we have looked into it.
What your helper sees, and when
- Once assigned to you
- Your first name and the initial of your surname, your country, arrival date, airport and the language you chose
- From 48 hours before your arrival day until 3 days after the Meet ends
- Also your flight, the contact you gave and — only if you allow it — your dorm address in Chinese

Book it in the app in four steps
Everything happens in Qiao. Only the payment is on the website.

Add your university
Get Qiao and add your university — or scan your admission letter and the app fills it in.

Open Meet
If Meet runs at your university, it appears on the home screen once you're admitted, and in Profile → My China. You'll see your university's helpers and the price.

Add the details
Date and flight (you can add them later), airport, the helper's language, how to reach you — WeChat, WhatsApp or Telegram — and whether your helper may see your dorm address.

Pay, or ask your parents
Pay on the Qiao website, or tap “Ask my parents” and send them the link: they see what Meet includes and pay from their own phone.

Paid on the website
Meet is a service in the real world, so it's paid on the Qiao website rather than as an in-app purchase. For now payments are confirmed by hand: the payment page shows how to pay and a reference, and we mark the booking paid when the money arrives.
Refunds
Cancel in the app no later than 72 hours before your arrival day begins, China time — or at any time while no arrival date is set — and you get a full refund. After that the booking can no longer be cancelled in the app; if something has gone wrong, write to support.
Plans changed?
Change the date, the flight and other details in the app until your helper meets you.
A booking that is not paid within 7 days is cancelled automatically.
